In Loving Memory of Professor Cong Quyet Thang

It is with our deepest sorrow that we extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Professor Cong Quyet Thang, former President of the Vietnam Society of Anesthesiologists, who passed away on April 29, 2025, at the age of 73.
Professor Thang was not only a pioneering figure in Vietnamese anesthesiology but also a
globally respected mentor and leader in our field. He dedicated his life to the advancement
of anesthesia in Vietnam and around the world. His tireless commitment, wisdom, and
humility have left a lasting legacy, inspiring generations of anesthesiologists and elevating
the standards of care throughout the region.
His passing is a profound loss, not only for Vietnam but also for the international anesthesia
community. As members of the Asian Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists (ASPA), we stand
united in grief with his family, colleagues, and the Vietnamese anesthesia community. We
honor his extraordinary contributions and lifelong dedication.
We pray that Professor Thang’s soul may rest in eternal peace. His memory and influence
will forever remain in our hearts and continue to shape the future of the specialty he helped
establish.
