Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC), Siem Reap, Cambodia
28 & 29 November 2015

ASPA members conducted the Safe PAN workshop at the invitation of the AHC in Siem Reap, site of the historical Angkor Wat.

28 anaesthsiologists and nurse anaesthetists participated, not just AHC staff but from all over Cambodia; Phnom Penh and Kampong Som. Some either drove or took public bus for 10 hours to Siem Reap to attend the workshop.

AHC provided great hospitality; the teaching facilities were good; AV worked well and the food great.

The feedback was encouraging, many liked the content and the style; the mixture of talks, group discussions and skill stations.

Areas participants felt we could improve were more scenario training and team training, case based lessons and more practice on the skills station. Though the level of English is adequate, more explanation on the lectures could have been given.

Dr Rathi Guhadasan, the Director of Education in AHC, would be happy to work with ASPA on future projects.
