ASPA 2014 meeting was held at Acibadem University, Kerem Aydinlar Building in Istanbul, Turkey during May 8-10, 2014.
The scientific program is performed by the attendance of 55 distinguished speakers and workshop facilitators from ASPA as well as from all over the world, including United States of America, Germany, Poland, France, Kosovo, Holland, United Kingdom.
There has been 286 participants in total, 162 of them being from Turkey. The distribution of participants according to the countries is as follows: 1 Australia, 4 Azerbeijan, 1 Belgium, 15 China, 1 France, 1 Hong Kong, 8 India, 10 Indonesia, 1 Iran, 23 Japan, 2 Korea, 1 Kosovo,1 Kuwait, 7 Malaysia, 3 Netherlands,1 Oman, 9 Philippines,1 Poland,1 Quatar, 8 Saudi Arabia, 6 Singapore,1 Slovakia, 1 South Africa, 7 Thailand,1 United Arab Emirates, 8 United States of America, 1 Uzbekistan, 162 Turkey
There were 7 oral, 91 poster presentations selected from 121 abstracts.
There were 3 workshops;
1. Regional Anesthesia –both Ultrasound guided and non–US. Participants: 40
2. Airway: Participants: 25
3. Simulation: at CASE Laboratories of Acibadem University. Participants: 15
The gala dinner was held at a boat along a trip across the Bosphorus.
There was also a faculty dinner at one of the nice hills above Bosphorus. Turkish Society of Anestheisology and Reanimation, Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Acibadem University, had sponsored some part of the meeting.
The abstracts were published as a special issue of Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation Journal.
