THE 9TH Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists Meeting Pediatric Anesthesia: Critical Care Issues
Undoubtedly, the 9TH Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists Meeting with the theme of PAEDIATRIC ANAESTHESIA: CRITICAL CARE ISSUES, hosted by the Philippine Society for Pediatric Anesthesia last February 23, 2011 had achieved its aim. Transferring the venue from the SMX Convention Center to Microtel Hotel Ballroom which is strategically located behind the Mall of Asia Complex proved to be the right decision. Our foreign guests were captivated as they dined on a buffet of gourmet food served during the Welcome Dinner the day before the ASPA Meeting. They were also delighted to be introduced to the Filipino hospitality.
The Ballroom created a very intimate atmosphere during the next 10 hours of the sessions. In attendance at the ASPA Meeting were ASEAN and Asian delegates as well as our local participants. Challenged to provide education and inspiration by means of specialized academic topics in pediatric anesthesia that were meticulously chosen, the PSPA organizers were determined to leave a mark. Curiosity captured the participants who were looking for unusual topics for discussion. The PSPA had guaranteed that the symposium and interactive session deliver to the delegates the know-how to provide anesthesia to the septic child and the child with caustic ingestion for endoscopy.
The PSPA Organizers never lost track of the time with all the delegates experiencing “brain fag”. For most of our delegates with their child like eagerness, were exultantly asking “what’s next” for the PSPA.
In behalf of the PSPA, I would like to thank the ACA Organizers for their faith in our ability to embark in this Pediatric Anesthesia Scientific Meeting and the ASPA who supported this endeavor. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the newly elected Executive Board Members of the PSPA for the year 2011- 2012.
