I am happy and feel honored to take on the role of President of the Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (ASPA).
ASPA was founded in 2000 and have since been helmed by a group of very forward-thinking leaders who recognize the unique challenges of paediatric anaesthesia and the need for making training freely available to ensure safe anaesthesia can be given to ALL children across ALL socioeconomic settings.
During the last 2 years, many countries have struggled with the coronavirus pandemic. Despite these difficulties, ASPA remained deeply committed and started the ASPA “Focussed Learning Education Experience” series which has received good viewership from several countries in Asia.
Together with members of the new committee, I strive to continue the collaborative spirit of previous ASPA leaders and hope to engage more Paediatric Anaesthesiologists to step forward to join our journey to provide safe anaesthesia to children in Asia.
