PPLS Kuala Lumpur

March 28, 2020
PAEDIATRIC PERIOPERATIVE LIFE SUPPORT (PPLS)
29TH FEBRUARY 2020- HOSPITAL TUNKU AZIZAH  (HTA)KUALA LUMPUR MALAYSIA

The Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Department Hospital Tunku Azizah was privileged to host the PPLS workshop on 29th February 2020. PPLS in Malaysia is a collaboration between the Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists(ASPA), Malaysia Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologist(MSPA) and Ministry of Health Malaysia and it is held at least twice a year since 2018.

The workshop was opened to specialists and registrars who were either in their 3rd year or final year of anaesthesiology training while the facilitators were paediatric anaesthesiologists (PPLS trainers) from the Universities , Ministry of Health Hospitals and Private Hospitals. We had a total of 12 facilitators who were brief the day before to ensure the consistency in content and standard in delivery . We received enthusiastic participation of 33 doctors from different hospitals across the states of Malaysia.

It was a full day event and most of the participants were energetic and enthuasiastic at the interactive case discussions and skill stations. The lectures were concise and precise. The participants strongly agreed that the content was comprehensive and useful for their clinical practice and would recommend this workshop to medical and nursing staff involved in perioperative care of children . This workshop was a success and we hope we can do it more frequently (at least 3-4 times/year).

The organizing committee would like to extend our gratitude to ASPA for the initiative and an excellent programme and to all facilitators for making this workshop a huge success.
